BOOK I // CHAPTER 08

The Void

If you take the machine apart, where does the ghost go? The lesson of Sunyata.

We dissect the brain. We find neurons, axons, blood, and water. We never find "You." This terrified the West, but it liberated the East.

In Buddhism, this is called Sunyata or Emptiness. It doesn't mean "Nothingness." It means "Empty of separate self." A wave is empty of being a "wave"—it is just the ocean doing something for a moment.

The End of Book I

We have reached the end of The Ghost. We found that the Hard Problem is real, but the Self is likely a simulation. We found that the Observer is real, but the Split is false.

To go further—to heal your suffering—we must stop looking for the ghost and start fixing the machine. We must descend into the wetware.

The Inheritance of Perspective

Do not be afraid of the Void. The Void is where you connect to everything else. When you are nobody, you are free to be anybody.
